	The Avenue is a reconfiguration and extension of an interwar house in Highams Park, London.The designs work on the principle that rooms and spaces need not be defined by walls and doors, but could instead be a series of thresholds, generous niches and varying volumes, which create a holistic approach to the way that modern family life might occupy the home.
At first floor, a more straightforward approach provides two new double bedrooms, using the existing stairs and circulation where possible. A new master suite is provided towards the front of the house, whilst at the rear, a second double bedroom enjoys views over the garden with a large dormer window.

Barrington Farm is a small housing development in rural North
Norfolk for adults with learning disabilities.


The project concerns the conversion of traditional existing
cart sheds to provide four new dwellings, and a communal workspace for ceramics,
print making and weaving. It will provide much needed additional capacity to an
already existing establishment which has been in operation for over 30 years.


Each dwelling is organised around a generous dual aspect open
plan living space characterised by exposed roof trusses, flint walls and a view
towards a central courtyard garden. Theses spaces provide spatial hierarchy
within the dwellings, where occupants meet and spend time with their carers and

Old Foundry is the extension and reconfiguration of home set
within a historic foundry building in North Norfolk. 
The property sits in the Northrepps conservation area, and once served as the
village foundry, producing agricultural equipment - notably, the Gallus Plough
widely used throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. 
Built of traditional Norfolk soft-red brick, with a clay pantile roof, the
building has a distinctive gable end, with brick piers and tumbling-in details.
The gable form is extruded around all four sides of a central courtyard and
rises to a single storey.BC was appointed to develop designs for the north block of the building, to
provide an improved entrance sequence, increase the kitchen area to be able to accommodate
guests and rationalise the circulation arrangement to other areas of the house.
The design strategy was one of small interventions. A simple extension to the
courtyard side of the block, allows the opening-up and reorientation of the
kitchen. Subsequently, a much-needed dedicated lobby and a utility room are
provided, and the circulation to the adjacent living and dining rooms is

Hall Road is the extension of a seventeenth
century cottage near Blickling in Norfolk. Located in a small dell and surrounded almost entirely by verdant woodlands, the
site is sheltered from the wind and weather, meaning limited sunlight
hours throughout the year, hot summers and
cold winters. 



The
existing house had a lack of dedicated dining and congregational space, and a
poor relationship between areas at ground floor meant the existing living spaces
were ineffective, neither providing quiet areas or practical entertainment
space.
The proposed development seeks
to address these issues by appraising the relationship between all ground floor
areas and identifying the most effective spatial configuration. The result is
the addition of a dedicated dining room and veranda overlooking the garden, and
an additional bedroom on the first floor, accessed by a new dedicated stairwell.
The proposed design is a contemporary extension, inspired by the original
house. The roof pitch and precast window details reference those on the
original building, which once served as part of a pilgrimage route. 
Internally, a bespoke joinery staircase, purposefully positioned to reorganise
the spaces, references the historical joinery that is seen throughout the

retail unit at ground floor and two new dwellings on the upper floors.

Proposals for a new-build dwelling for a young family. &#38;nbsp;Located in a rural village in North Norfolk, the site occupies a backland setting and is characterised by its abundance of native mature trees, wildflower meadows and wildlife.The plan is principally arranged into three spatial conditions: arrival, living and sleeping. Refurbishment and extension of an Edwardian terrace house in
Ealing, West London.
The project concerned the remodelling and extension of the ground floor and
conversion of the loft space with a dormer extension, to provide contemporary
living spaces to suit a young and growing family.
The existing property, whilst in reasonable structural condition, had a
compromised spatial configuration, particularly at ground floor. 
By holistically appraising the entire spatial arrangement and introducing a
clear sequence of new rooms and niches, the designs mediate between quiet space
and lively family space.
A structural column and carefully positioned internal and external openings distinguish
notional spaces from one another, in an otherwise open plan. &#38;nbsp;
Externally, the new elements reflect on the un-ordered rear side of terraced
housing in London. Brick is used at ground floor, with a subtle shift from the
traditional yellow stock. Stacked, along with concrete elements, the modest rear
extension takes on a proud character. At loft level, windows are set flush with cementitiouspanel cladding, to express a simple volume added to the roofscape.


New openings dramatically vary in size throughout, overlooking
